DDS GYXTW-SM-4C is an outdoor G.652D single-mode armored fiber optic cable featuring a central gel-filled loose tube, corrugated steel tape armor, two parallel steel wires and a UV-resistant PE outer sheath.

Description

The DDS GYXTW-SM is an outdoor armored single-mode fiber optic cable designed for reliable optical communication in telecommunications, FTTH/FTTx, CCTV, LAN, access and outdoor backbone networks.

The cable uses a central gel-filled PBT loose tube containing the optical fibers. A corrugated steel tape armor provides mechanical and rodent protection, while two parallel steel wires provide additional tensile strength. The entire construction is protected by a UV-resistant black PE/MDPE outer jacket.

The central loose-tube construction provides a compact and lightweight cable design while maintaining good mechanical and environmental performance.

 


Cable Construction

The DDS GYXTW-SM cable consists of the following layers:

1. Optical Fibers

Single-mode G.652D optical fibers provide high-performance optical transmission.

2. Central Loose Tube

A hydrolysis-resistant PBT loose tube contains the optical fibers and is filled with thixotropic water-blocking gel.

3. Water Blocking

The filling compound prevents longitudinal water penetration and protects the optical fibers against moisture.

4. Corrugated Steel Tape Armor

A corrugated steel tape layer provides additional mechanical protection and improved resistance against crushing, impact and rodents.

5. Parallel Steel Wires

Two parallel steel wires positioned on opposite sides of the cable provide tensile reinforcement.

6. Outer Jacket

A black UV-resistant PE/MDPE outer sheath protects the cable against outdoor environmental conditions.

The standard 12-color sequence can be used for fiber identification:

Actual cable diameter varies according to the loose-tube diameter, steel tape thickness, steel-wire diameter and jacket design. Published GYXTW constructions show approximately 7.7–8.5 mm for 4/8 cores and approximately 8.5–9.0 mm or higher for 12/24 cores.
